New Arrival: marumi Series Bowls by Keiko Tera

New Arrival: marumi Series Bowls by Keiko Tera

We’re pleased to announce the release of new handmade bowls from ceramic artist Keiko Tera, part of her signature marumi series.

The marumi series is defined by its gentle curves and soft presence in the hand. Each piece is carefully shaped to highlight the quiet expression of clay itself—subtle, warm, and deeply connected to everyday use.

Every bowl is made slowly, one by one, allowing natural variations to emerge. Fine crackle patterns (kannyū) may appear on the surface during firing, a characteristic born from the interaction between clay and glaze. These are not flaws, but part of each vessel’s unique character.

水月 (MIZUKI)

Inspiration:

This piece was inspired by a photograph taken at Koijigahama Beach, Aichi Prefecture. The bowl carries a sense of stillness—like moonlight resting gently on calm water. Soft tones and restrained texture invite a moment of pause.

澄美 (SUMI)

Inspiration:

Inspired by scenery photographed in the Goto Islands, Nagasaki, this bowl expresses clarity and calm. Its presence is unassuming yet grounding, echoing the rhythm of waves arriving without urgency.
